UPDATE 12 July 2011, 7 April - 2011-The West African Examinations. Council (WAEC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions in its Nigeria National Office and the Lagos Department of its Headquarters Research Division:
1. SUBJECT OFFICERS

Possession of higher degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation would be an added advantage.
A minimum of three years post qualification teaching experience is required for Subject Officers.
2. RESEARCH OFFICER
Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Ed. (Hons) (at least Second Class Lower Division) in English Language and M. Ed. in Measurement and Evaluation from a recognized University.
A Ph.D will be an added advantage.
A minimum of three years post qualification teaching experience is required.
3. APTITUDE TEST DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS
Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Ed. (Hons) (at least Second Class Lower Division) in either Chemistry, Physics or English and M.Ed. in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from a recognized University.
A minimum of three years post qualification teaching experience is required.
4. ACCOUNTANTS
Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree (at least Second Class Lower Division ) from a recognised University and must be Associate Members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) with a minimum of three years post professional qualification experience.
5. INTERNAL AUDITORS
The qualifications and experience for Internal Auditors the same as in 4 above (Accountants).
- SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS
Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Sc. (at least Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized University and be Microsoft Certified Systems Administrators.
- NETWORK ADMINISTRATORS
Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Sc (at least Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized University. In addition applicants msut be CISCO Certified Network Administrators with at least three years post qualification experience in a Local Area Network (LAN) environment.
Applicants for all positions must:
- be able to use personal computers, office software packages and have knowledge of web-based systems,
- be self motivated and able to write good reports; analyse and review research reports; be able to work extra hours with little or no supervision.
- be a team player with good inter-personal skills; be open and able to lead change
- possess influencing skills
- be an organizer/planner with ability to be flexible and a finisher with ability to successfully implement ideas.
- possess analytical and communication skills.
Applicants should not be more than 35 years of age as at the close of applications.

The salaries paid by the Council are very attractive. Point of entry into the salary scales will depend on qualifications and experience.
