Management Trainees

The Role
The Trainee will undergo an intensive training program that is tailored towards a specific role for a definite period. Successful candidates must be ready to take on challenging tasks and assignments in any of the Company's locations.

Requirements
The ideal candidate should meet the following

B.Sc degree with a minimum of second class honours upper division in any of the following areas: Applied and Natural Sciences; Social and Management Sciences; Engineering and related discipline. A master's degree would be an advantage.
  • Evidence of having participated in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme or exemption
  • Not older than 27 years as at 1st January 2012
  • Not more than two 2 years of post graduation experience
  • Ability to work with computer systems and MS office suite
  • Willingness to work in any of its locations in Nigeria
  • "Hands on" attitude and self-starting disposition
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.

Remuneration
Remuneration attached to the position is in line with the existing rates in the industry.

Call for applications for Young Journalists/Bloggers

The International Labour Organization (ILO) has announced that is offering five young journalists/bloggers the opportunity to promote and cover the Youth Employment Forum, which will take place in Geneva from 23 to 25 May 2012.


The selected journalists/bloggers will be invited to attend the ILO Youth Employment Forum, providing them with a unique opportunity to hear individual stories from over 100 young women and men from around the world who are active in the promotion of decent work for youth.

The Youth Employment Forum is meant to be an avenue for young people to voice their views on the current youth employment situation and to share ideas on what can be done to provide more and better jobs for their generation.

Young journalists/bloggers will support the coverage of the Forum through social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter and blogs), articles, interviews and other relevant mediums. They will also report back to their regional and local communities, networks and organizations.

Criteria for Selection

  • Must be below 30 years of age,
  • Have journalism (online, print, photo, video, radio) and/or blogging experience,
  • Have working knowledge of English, French and/or Spanish. Knowledge of another of the official United Nations languages (Arabic, Chinese and Russian) is also an asset.


Selection Process

The selection panel of the ILO Youth Employment Programme encourages young journalists/bloggers who meet the criteria to enter the competition. The panel will seek to have a balanced representation of entries from different sexes, regions and language groups.

Required documents for the selection process

  • A CV
  • A brief cover letter explaining why you would like to participate
  • Two or three online articles, videos, etc. prepared by you, illustrating your journalism experience

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

The Candidate will be responsible will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and professional support to day-to-day operations of human resources department which include recruitment, training, personnel relatins, administration and other task assigned.


Key Output:
Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of the human resources office;
Manage sensitive and confidential matters like personnel relations, employee
relations, and organizational changes; protecting the security of information, data and files.
Provide general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms, arranging and updating, tracking deadlines and expiration of documents
Assist in preparation and logistical planning for trainings and other activities;
Assist with the recruitment and selection process;
Exercise individual judgment while dealing with potential or real troubles on own initiative and bringing them to manager's attention;
Maintaining employee file records up-to-date by handling changes in employee status in timely manner;
Interact with and supply information to employees, department heads. and job applicants when necessary;
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualification and Experience:
A good first degree in personnel managment or other related field in humanities with a minimum of Second Class honours degree (Upper division), from a reputable university. A minimum of 3 years administrative or human resources experience in reputable organisation.


SALES ENGINEER

The candidate will be part of the driving force of Swift's business performance in the Enterprise (business to business) sector, and accountability for sales, market share, brand awareness and new product development.

Key output:
Enterprise Business solution scoping, design and sales;
Manage relationships with key stakeholders to promote the company's interests and to position the company as a partner of choice:
Develop and deliver new business opportunities among assigned Enterprise segments
Acquisition of new enterprise accounts;
Expanded business with existing enterprise accounts;

Qualification and Experience:
A first degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer science/engineering, Information Technology with a minimum of 2nd class honours (upper division), from a reputable university. A minimum of 3 years experience selling E-business solutions in the banking, telecommunications, oil and gas sectors with a proven track record of success.
